Aston Villa will today announce financial results confirming that an estimated £36 million cost of COVID has increased overall losses to £99 million. It’s understood that last season’s figures would have been similar to the £69 million loss recorded in the 2018-19 promotion-winning season had the pandemic not struck. Villa invested £155 million in rebuilding a Premier League-ready squad last season which included the previously record-breaking arrival of Wesley for £22 million. The results will also show that turnover has increased from £54 million to £112 million.
