On Friday 20th December 2019, Everton announced that Goalkeeper Žan-Luk Leban had signed a professional contract with the club, penning a deal until June 2022.

Slovenian Leban, who turned 17 on Sunday, joined the Blues this summer from Polish outfit FCB Escola Varsovia, having also trained with both Barcelona, Liverpool, and Manchester United youth teams.

The talented stopper has recently returned to full training after suffering an ankle ligament injury during pre-season.

He revealed his pride after committing his future to Everton and set out his determination to hit the ground running upon his return to peak fitness.

“I am so happy to sign this contract,” said Leban, who has been capped by Slovenia at Under-17 level".

“Ever since I was a young boy, I have dreamed of becoming a professional footballer and to sign for a Club with the prestige of Everton is incredible for myself and my family. I’m very proud".

"I would like to thank my family and everyone who has supported me in my football career so far for helping me reach this point".

On Thursday 26th May 2022, Žan-Luk signed a new one year contract with the club. Then on Thursday 2nd February 2023, he again extended until June 2025.
