On 6th October 2022, Everton announced that midfielder Callum Bates had signed his first professional contract with the Club, penning a three-year deal until the end of June 2025.

Callum has been with the Everton Academy since the age of 11.

The Bury-born youngster paid tribute to the Everton coaches and backroom staff for supporting his development.

“It feels great to sign this pro contract and I’m excited for the future,” Bates said.

“I’ve been here for a long time and the Club have put their faith in me, which I’m very grateful for. I feel like my progress has been very good since I joined Everton. It’s been a big step up to the Under-18s this season but I’m enjoying it.”

“It’s great to work with Leighton Baines. He demands a lot from his players and he wants the best for us. This season, I just want to get regular football with the Under-18s, and then hopefully I can get a chance with the Under-21s in the future.”

Contracted until: June 2025
