U18 Coach

Paul Tait

Paul Tait - Profile

As a 16-year-old Paul relocated from Newcastle to Merseyside to join Everton’s youth system.

After his time as a scholar and reserve player with the Blues, Paul moved on to play league football for an impressive list of clubs including Wigan, Crewe and Bristol Rovers.

Paul cites playing and scoring goals in the Championship as a highlight of his playing career.

Whilst still playing professional football, Paul would use his day off from training each week at Everton Football Academy and developing his coaching skills for his future career.

Paul has coached at the Academy since 2006 and holds a UEFA A License, Advanced Youth Award and a FA Level 5 Award in Advanced Psychology.

He worked with the Under-15 Milk Cup-winning team which included current first-team players such as Ross Barkley and Matthew Pennington.

Paul’s professional focus is to develop Under-18 players both on and off the field, supporting them to achieve professional contracts and grow to become well-rounded young people.
