I'd like to think that Besic will get a game but, either Martinez is trying to justify buying Kone and fitting him into the team even though it makes us unbalanced, or he obviously sees something that nobody else sees. Personally, I think he'll start as he's got previous when it comes to picking his favourites regardless of form. We can beat them as I think their average considering the wealth of quality players they have but we're Everton under Martinez so you never know. The fact bringing an extra midfielder on worked much better will go in one ear and out the other with Martinez. By Wednesday, he'll be putting Kone on the team sheet and Besic will be benched again ................. until we're 4-0 down, and then he might make a change. It's so frustrating with him; he's clearly myopic when it comes to the way he wants to play. I like attacking football but not when it comes at the expense of our defense. I'd rather we won 1-0 than win 5-4.

Just returned to work after the break, and the Citeeh fans I work with are not looking forward to playing us. Even after the Leicester and Stoke games they think we have the players that can and will hurt them. Someone please tell Stonsey, he is allowed the occasional hoof upfield when under pressure. He nearly screwed up again against Spurs and with the likes of Aguero, De-Bryne and even Stirling hovering around, they will punish him.

Martinez doesn't get the idea of building from something that worked well. He prefers to return to the same philosophy and tries to make it work as he doesn't like change. Why sign Robles as a backup keeper but not let him play even when Howard is struggling? Why is Mirallas once again out of the picture despite an opportunity to use him yet again yesterday. Besic on and Kone off worked well, so why not start from there?

It depends on the day with Everton as we don't have any momentum. I'm not very confident I'll be honest.

Under Moyes we had the voodoo on City but our open play style has suited them better and we must shut up shop more.
