Watford's Mazzarri hits back at Everton manager Koeman'You all saw who played the better football' says Hornets bossWatford boss Walter Mazzarri has hit back at Ronald Koeman labelling his team a long-ball side by declaring: “You all saw who played the better football.” Everton surrendered an early lead to go down 3-2 at Vicarage Road and extend their run of form to just one win in 10 Premier League games. Blues boss Koeman spoke afterwards of his players being unable to deal with Watford's physicality and direct style of play. But the insinuation regarding the home team's approach was met with short shrift by Mazzarri. “Each person has his own opinion but we all have eyes in order to see,” said the Watford boss. “You have all seen who played better and who played good football. “Each person has his own opinion, but I don't agree with him (Koeman).” Of the game, Mazzarri added: “I am very happy for my players and the way they played. “With a team like Everton it's not easy, especially when you're 1-0 down and you need a big reaction. This is how we managed to get a very important win.” Stefano Okaka, the Watford summer signing from Anderlecht, was a constant menace for Everton and netted the Hornets' first-half equaliser with a brilliant improvised finish. And Mazzarri added: “It was a great moment but it was the whole play that led to the goal. “We'd been practising all week the fast ball down the middle, and you all saw the finish that only players like Okaka can do. “This shows what I've always been saying, But this is what happens when you have many injuries it takes time when a player recovers to be 100% ready.” Liv Echo

Mazzarri is right, we are a long ball team. That has to be down to Koeman as we haven't played like that for a long time.

Was prepared to give Koeman time but he's proving to be utterly useless. The warning signs he isn't that bothered are when he took forever to arrive at the club which didn't give him time to assess the squad and him not playing the youth. He's an average manager at best. We need to remember that the same players have let us down 3 seasons on the bounce now, and before I'll condemn another manager, I'd like to get rid of the players first, as I find it too coincidental. You're right, they're terrible but he keeps playing them and not giving the youth a chance. Why not change to a 442? I want to be wrong about him but I'm not sure.

He's only had just over a dozen games mate. Sometimes managers don't hit the ground running but let's not right him off just yet. True. Angry post, sorry. Still, I'd like him to ditch them and play some of the youth. Coleman isn't great so why drop Holgate? Put Davies alongside Barry or Gueye. Play 442 as it's clearly not working. Best bet is to try the youth as they will put effort in to impress him if nothing else.
