Ines Pereira - Goalkeeper

On Friday 19th July 2024, Everton announced the signing of Portugues international goalkeeper Ines Pereira, who will spend the 2024-25 season on loan with Spanish club Deportivo de La Coruna.

Pereira, who represented Portugal at EURO 2022 and the 2023 World Cup, joins Everton following the expiry of her contract with Swiss side Servette, where she made 47 league appearances and registered 20 clean sheets.

The keeper leaves the Swiss Women’s Super League after winning back-to-back titles, in addition to two Portuguese league trophies from her six-year spell with Sporting Club de Portugal between 2016 and 2021.

Manager Brian Sorensen said “Ines is a player I’ve been tracking for a while, from around the age of 18. We have two excellent goalkeepers with us now and Ines is one we see making an impact to our squad in the future.”

“She has a lot of experience – playing at the EUROs and the World Cup – but she is still young and has a lot more to give. Ines is a talented goalkeeper, excellent with her feet, and plays with a lot of courage. One of the first things I noticed with her was her mentality, the way she conducts herself.”

“She is a good character on the pitch and demands a lot from her teammates. Speaking to her I can tell she’s a quality human being and I’m excited to see how she gets on in her loan spell in Spain before playing for us in the future.”
