Everton players to hold crisis talks this week to sort out their problemsASHLEY WILLIAMS says Everton’s players will meet this week in an effort to work out how to eradicate the inconsistency which is threatening to undermine their season.Another hot and cold display against Swansea left Goodison Park frustrated for all that Seamus Coleman’s last-gasp equaliser earned a point. And Williams admitted that the Everton squad will have to work out fast how to they can string together two decent halves if they are to reboot a season which is beginning to stutter. “It is frustrating for all of us,” said the centre-half, who moved from Swansea to Everton in the summer. “We are trying our best but for whatever reason this [inconsistency] is happening. This week we will speak a bit more about that because I feel it is definitely something we need to work on in the 90 minutes and from game to game.” Everton flew out of the blocks early this season with four wins and a draw in the first five but now have just one win from their last seven Premier League matches. And with Southampton away followed by Manchester United, Watford, Arsenal and Liverpool in the pre-Christmas period, Williams and co have to arrive at a solution pretty quickly. Everton went behind after Phil Jagielka upended Gylfi Sigurdsson inside the box in the 41st minute, the Iceland international converting from the spot. But it will be a frustration to Ronald Koeman that it took that to rouse his side into some sort of anger even if Coleman’s late equaliser was due reward for sustained pressure in the second half. For Swansea the late goal was a kick in the guts that they perhaps did not deserve after an improved display. Yet Sigurdsson insisted the squad believe a first win under American coach Bob Bradley is imminent. “Having only six points is not down to the manager it’s down to us, the players,” he said. “All of the boys like the manager and the way he’s training us is very good. So it is down to us to perform and get the results. “I have felt for the last few weeks it is just around corner and it has not come yet. But this was a big performance and while it was not to be in the end hopefully this is the start and it is just around the corner.” Source - Daily Express

Just around the corner, or sending fans round the bend?
The way I see things, it's very hard to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League, so you have to be able to score more than one goal if you're going to win a game of football.
Lukaku gets too much praise in my book, and as a team, we look like we're trying to follow orders, instead of playing naturally, as it all looks awkward.
Long gone is the flowing football style Martinez tried to install, and instead we are resorting to hoofing the ball up to players who just aren't cutting it.
When Moyes left, we were still a strong outfit, but what has happened to the spirit and togetherness he instilled?

Crisis talks? I could understand it if we were in the relegation zone.

Since Martinez came, we had the likes of Alcaraz, and McGeedy join, and Kone, Robles, Cleverley. None of those players would have got a look in with the team if Moyes had stayed. Then we signed the likes of Mori who was an unknown, ***** Niasse, Atsu, Traore, and Eto'o. McCarthy and Lennon. Where is the quality? Flaming Deulofeu who looks like he can't be arsed, and Barry, who as good as he is is getting on. Lukaku who can't trap a bag of cement, and we've sold players who were doing a shift. Now Koeman signs 2 players from the Championship, and pays 30 million for a Crystal Palace player FFS. ***** Enner Valencia on top and it's no wonder Everton are *****. Williams from Swansea is another who has been signed in his twilight years.
