The Final WhistleReverse of last weeks game and 2nd half was flat compared to the 1st half. Definitely a free kick in that Jags was defending his head from getting kicked; great technique by Rom!! We succumbed to a predictable cross/Benteke header but credit due; as much as I hate to say. The positives for us certainly lie in Stek and the defence; we're resilient and dealt with the 2nd half. Gana is Gana and is a pleasure to have; he's always thinking and putting it in over 90 minutes. Koeman knows the attacking midfield is the area for improvement; most of his changes are here and this is the area that let us down in the 2nd half. Conceding 1 goal isn't the end; our attack go again and we stress Palace again - 1 more goal and it's 3 points. Could having 1 player sitting in rather than 2; with an extra man in the attacking midfield make a difference - making it 4 behind Rom rather than 3? I'm disappointed at how different both halves were, and how easily Benteke was able to head his goal, not to mention the fact that we didn't learn from it, and had their 2nd not been disallowed we'd have lost the game via 2 identical lapses.

A tale of 2 halves once again. Where was Geri?

Benteke worked it well and personally I think he hustled/exploited the softer side of our defence; he or Pardew might have noticed something and it was targeted - maybe the reason why the disallowed goal was a re-run.
McArthur and Ledley needed breaking apart, one of them pulled out wide for us to exploit/work it in the centre. Like how we dealt with Kirchoff at Sunderland; Geri and Bolasie hugged the wings and Mirallas had more influence to work the centre.

I think because we went second, and instead of pushing on, lost in the cup, then to Bournemouth, fans are disappointed. Had we won the last few games, we'd probably be giving more credit to Crystal Palace, and feel less frustrated. I hate the International break, but at least we have a big game against City to look forward to afterwards. It could have been a game that saw us go top, but reality is a rude awakener once you start dreaming.
