Everton offer for Dominic Calvert-Lewin rejected by Sheffield UnitedBlues lodged initial seven figure fee with League One club but had it knocked backEverton are weighing up their next move after an offer for Dominic Calvert-Lewin was rejected. The Blues lodged a bid of £1m up front with Sheffield United for the 19-year-old but the ECHO understands it was knocked back. Everton want to add the highly-rated Calvert-Lewin to their under-21 set-up but look like facing a fight to land him. Calvert-Lewin has been with the League One club for over 10 years and signed a new long-term contract last year. The Sheffield-born forward was sent out on loan to League Two side Northampton last season, making almost 30 appearances and hitting 10 goals. And on his return to Bramall Lane, Calvert-Lewin made nine League One appearances for his hometown club. Sheffield United remain determined to keep their prize asset and so the Blues will now decide whether to return with an improved offer or move on. Liv Echo
