Everton Ladies drew 1-1 to Durham Women on Sunday afternoon at the Select Security Stadium. Michelle Hinnigan’s equaliser ensured that the Blue Girls maintained their unbeaten run at home in WSL 2 action. However, there was a feeling of disappointment as they were hoping to secure all three points to push on for promotion. Speaking after the game, Andy Spence said: "In the first 15 minutes I thought we did okay and started the game in a good manner. We looked to play the way we have been working on all week but then the goal came and it was a bit of a sucker punch. "The guys will tell me the stats in terms of chances created but I lost count after a while. There were also a couple clearances off the line.” Spence’s side were left to rue missed chances as they had opportunities to score more goals in both halves. "Perhaps there could have been better finishing or decisions with the final pass but we had plenty of chances. "The goal summed up how well we can play. It was a fantastic goal but the shame is that it’s the type of work we've done all week but we should be able to repeat it more than once in a game." There will be a lot of pressure on the Blue Girls over the next six games with promotion still the aim for the Club. "There's high expectations but I believe in them and now it's about turning that belief and confidence into making sure we get the results that we want." It has been a rollercoaster season so far with many highs and lows but Spence has faith in his players to produce the goods and end the season on a high. "Getting over the line is always the hardest bit in football. You can produce really good moments in games and not get over the line and that's frustrating. "There's a lot of talent within the staff group and the players so we just now need to find a way."
