Stewart Excited For DerbyTeenage defender eager for bow against former side. Ellie Stewart is relishing the prospect of a Merseyside derby debut having been involved in both camps. The defender came through Everton’s Centre of Excellence before signing for Liverpool in 2013, but returned to the Blues two years later. With the 2016 season now back underway after a month-long break, the 19-year-old is looking forward to Saturday’s Continental Tyres Cup clash - which has a revised kick-off time of 4pm. Speaking ahead of the tie to be held at the Select Security Stadium, Widnes, Stewart told evertontv: "It’ll be weird. I know the derby from both sides and from growing up in Liverpool, I understand what it means to everyone. “Hopefully, if I can be involved, it will be my first derby. I was on the bench for Liverpool for one, but being on the Everton side for this one means I’m really excited. "Everyone’s always up for these games and especially with the crowd turnouts we get for them, it’ll be really exciting." Click here to purchase tickets for the game.
