Calum Dyson’s brace and Antony Evans’ strike ensured Everton Under-21s signed off their season with a win over the Isle of Man. The young Blues, fresh from a six-game unbeaten run which sees them currently sit third in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League, were invited to take part in the friendly as part of the hosts’ centenary celebrations. Dyson, who was named captain for the day, opened the scoring, winning and then converting a penalty to give David Unsworth’s side the lead inside 20 minutes. The Toffees remained on top throughout and eventually doubled their lead four minutes into the second half, with Evans finding the back of the net with a superb 20-yard drive. Fazakerley-born Dyson then sealed the result with his second of the afternoon as his strike deflected home after a half-cleared corner fell into his path. Isle of Man starting XI: Petkov, Cowin, Kelly, Quaye, Bell, McVey, Gale, Jones, Webster, Doyle, Bass. Everton Under-21s starting XI: Hewelt, Yates, Foulds, Holgate, Graham, Thorniley, Holland, Charsley, Dyson, Evans, Henen.
