The unrest is perfectly understandable in my book, and is created by one man, and one man only. I personally find it very difficult to support this man anymore, and I would be very happy if he were given his marching orders before the Crystal Palace game, nevermind the semi final. I don't really care too much about cups. Everton have gotten to the semi final after incredibly easy draws, and I include Chelsea in that, and we got to the semi of the Carling cup too, with incredible easy draws, yet made a real pigs ear of the Carling cup, scraping through the early rounds by the skin of our teeth. Any team can win a cup, but Everton are a league team, and the league is what keeps the fans happy on a weekly basis, so I say sack Martinez now, not later. As a few times before, I don't completely agree! I would love some silverware so that we can bask in the short term glory that brings, whilst recognising that the highest possible league position is what drives us forward. Previous to this season, I'd have said we have to be in the League as competitive as possible, but we could never win it because of all the money at City, Chelsea and Arsenal (not that Wenger ever spends it). But Leicester have proved us all wrong on that front. Nevertheless, I do now accept RM should go, and for me it is about 'when' not 'if'.

If the players aren't playing for Martinez then he must go immediately, as at least they might start playing again and win the cup as they are capable of it. Teams often play better after a bad manager goes. It's not about Martinez but the club. If a new boss came in he could at least view the players he has and see himself what needs to be done in the window.

Winning silverware is great, but it's not a deal breaker and I've never been a glory hunter. I love Everton for their genuine competitive spirit, and that has vanished under Martinez, which is why I want him to leave most of all. Moyes had the players fighting even if they weren't the best players, and although there were periods when we were poor, he left Martinez a spirited side, and Martinez has dissolved that. I actually don't like him, and find him to be a bit of a confidence trickster.

Sorry Ross, I can't agree with you here, I have nearly completed 62 years as an Everton supporter (going every other week to home games) and I have found particularly this season to be a frustrating episode which I can only blame on both the manager and the coaching staff. Sometimes we play attractive football, but 'pretty' football doesn't win games. Martinez unfortunately has a previous history of taking a team down whilst winning the F.A. Cup. He has got to be aware of the fans displeasure at the style of play, yet doesn't appear to do anything about it. Granted, we all think we know better than the manager, but as Edward J Hoover once said, " you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time".
Not sure what we're disagreeing about. I'm not saying that Martinez should stay, it's about when he should go. At any other club he would have already been sacked.
