Spence Hungry For FA Cup SuccessAndy Spence hopes to continue FA Cup run when they travel to Aston Villa for fifth round tie.Everton Ladies manager Andy Spence says his side are hungry for more FA Cup success after drawing Aston Villa in the fifth round of the competition. The Blues eased through to the next round of the FA Cup following a comfortable 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the Select Security Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Spence’s side will now travel to the Midlands for their cup fixture against Villa on Sunday 20 March before facing them at home just four days later in their WSL2 opener. “It always adds a little bit extra I suppose, the fact that we are then starting the league campaign against them on the Thursday.” Spence said. “As we saw last year we started in the league against Villa away and it’s a real tough place to go but it’s certainly somewhere where we won’t be afraid of going and we’ll go there with confidence. “That confidence will come from those two victories in the cup and hopefully we’ll go there in a position to take a full strength squad and put on another good showing in the competition.” Everton have had a good record in the competition in recent years, last lifting the FA Cup in 2010 before coming runners-up to Arsenal in 2014 and semi-finalists last season. “It’s been a competition that we’ve enjoyed playing in and we’ve done well in,” added Spence. “That gives you confidence and I’m sure the girls will be really determined to go far in the competition. “The club as a whole has had some great memories in the FA Cup going back over the last 12 years. “We’ve been to cup finals and 2010 will always stick out in the mind from a personal point of view and for the players who were involved as one of the real special moments, beating Arsenal in extra time. “We know we face a tough side in Aston Villa but we know we have an opportunity to make sure we progress to the quarter-finals and hopefully beyond that as well.”

Good luck to the women. It would be good to have them competing at the top again.
