Brougham becomes a Blue GirlWe are pleased to announce the signing of Georgia Brougham from Manchester City. The 19-year old joins from the WSL 1 runners-up and becomes the third player to be snapped up by Andy Spence ahead of the 2016 season. The youngster made her City debut against the Blue Girls back in September 2014 and played a key role in their 2014 Continental Cup victory against Arsenal in October of that year. Speaking about the move, Georgia said: "I think Everton are a great club and after speaking to Andy about his future plans and how he develops players, I couldn't say no to the move. "I spoke to Alex (Brooks) before joining and she told me how close knit the squad was as well as how much she had enjoyed her stay so far, so that influenced my decision as well.. "In 2016, I want to help the team get back to where they belong, which is WSL 1, and try and be as successful as we can in the domestic cups." Manager Andy Spence believes that Brougham will be a great addition to the squad as she can play a number of positions and will fit in with the squad easily. He said: "The big attraction with Georgia was that she enhances what we've already got. She's a very talented young player and fits in with what the other players that are already here." "Georgia is capable of playing of centre back and full back, so it gives us a number of options with her. She's a highly technical player and is someone whose game will improve while she is with us. "We're really excited to have her as part of our team!" Brougham will be part of the squad that travels to Notts County later today for a pre-season friendly as we continue our preparations ahead of the big kick off against Aston Villa.
