Andy Spence's side ensure a smooth progression to the fourth round of the FA Women's Cup. Everton are through to the fourth round of the FA Cup after Andy Spence’s side swept Stoke City away in a 7-0 win at the Select Security Stadium. Goals by Simone Magill, Michelle Hinnigan, Claudia Walker, Kelly Jones, Channy Boye-Hlorkah and a double by Emily Holinshead secured the win as they showed no signs of rustiness in their first match of 2016. The Toffees made a perfect start to the match when they took the lead in the seventh minute when Magill pounced on a rebound in the six-yard box after Holinshead’s shot hit the post. The lead was doubled a few minutes later when Holinshead had the ball on the right wing and her cross-come-shot from an impossible angle left Stoke keeper, Natalie Hall, bamboozled. Hollinshead was once again at the heart of the action on the 36th minute, when the Blues extended their lead. Walker had a shot deflected into the path of Holinshead who finished from just inside the area. Spence's Ladies went into the break 3-0 up and continued to exert their dominance for the second 45 minutes. Everton started the second half strongly, with skipper, Hinnigan rattling the crossbar with a free-kick from 25 yards just a few minutes after the restart. She went one better just moments later when she bagged the Ladies' fourth of the day. Walker continued the relentless dominance with the fifth goal in the 68th minute after finishing well from a corner on the right. Kelly Jones extended the lead with 15 minutes to go when she finished calmly after she was played through on the left. Boye-Hlorkah added gloss to the scoreline with the seventh goal after being played through on goal by Hinnigan. The Blue Girls defended superbly and did not let Stoke City testiment to the Blues defence that they did not give Stoke a chance to test either Kirstie Levell or Alex Brooks, who both featured in goal on the day - Brooks making her competitive debut. Overall, it was a comprehensive victory for the team who now have the fourth round of the FA Cup and the start of the WSL 2 League season to look forward to. Attendance: 484

That will have been a big boost to the start of their season. I think the men could of and should of had a similar result.

What a great win for them. Freebie tickets offered too, so a good day all round for those who went.
