Everton Under-21s’ league meeting against Manchester United has been moved to Finch Farm due to a waterlogged pitch at Southport. With the Sandgrounders’ Merseyrail Community Stadium feeling the effects of the inclement weather, the game has been moved to the Blues’ training complex, and will now be played behind closed doors. Evertonians can follow all the action via our official Twitter account Everton, and there will be a full match report after the game on evertonfc.com. The Under-21s have been in lethal form since the turn of the year, with three wins from three games. Midfielder Joe Williams has been heavily involved in those victories, scoring in the 4-3 thriller with Newcastle United in the Premier League Cup, then following it up with another goal against Accrington Stanley, which helped Everton progress to the final of the Lancashire Senior Cup. And the 19-year-old is looking to add to his haul when the Blues take on the Red Devils this evening. “If I can get more goals that will be great,” he said. “I think my performances have been good and I have been able to chip in with a few goals to help the side. Unsy has been asking me to do that recently so its been nice. “I’ve been working on that side of my game. Scoring goals is what you have got to do as a midfielder. The top midfielders we’ve seen in the Premier League – the Lampards, the Gerrards, the Toures – they have all scored goals. I am looking to do what they have done.” The team, meanwhile, are looking to extend an unbeaten run that extends back to the end of 2015, and Williams believes there is plenty to play for. “We want to keep kicking on,” he added. “We want to win something this season and Unsy has given us the target of finishing in the top two in the league. We want to push on and get up there in the league now. “We are going to keep looking to play the way we’re playing and look to keep this unbeaten run going for as long as we can. We have won the last three but we are unbeaten in six. We want to keep that going.”

It's waterlogged because of all the crying they've been doing lately.
