It's a much needed win, and should give us some much needed confidence. Newcastle lost 6 nothing against Sunderland behind closed doors so shows how out of form they are. Our penalties make it look a better score but I thought we were awful tonight for most of it. You can't be fantastic every game. At least we won.

You can't be fantastic every game. At least we won. We've played lots better and got beat so it's good to get back to winning ways. I loved the cheeky pen at the end.

I'm delighted with another Newcastle bashing. They really are atrocious when you consider the money they've spent.

I'm happy with that win. A good performance by the team. The intensity was there from start to finish. Robles looked good and he should start for the remainder of the season. Mori had a bit of dodgy game but I still think he's a decent defender. Coleman had a bad game but he's allowed one. Well done Everton It's a good result but I wasn't very taken by the quality of football at all. 2 penalties doesn't hide how lacklustre we were in attack and some sloppy passing and careless defending went unpunished. We needed the win, and I'm pleased, but it's hard not to be critical given how bad Newcastle were. I'm trying to stay positive as I can be very pessimistic but I agree with your post. Believe me, I don't think we're all that and we deserve to be where we are in the league at the moment. I've written this season off and just praying we stay up and Martinez is gone in the summer.
