England striker Toni Duggan leaves Everton Ladies
Everton Ladies have confirmed that England women's international striker Toni Duggan has left the club.
The 22-year-old, who scored a hat-trick in England's World Cup qualifying win over Turkey in September, rejected a new contract with the Merseysiders.
She is expected to join Manchester City Ladies, who will compete in the expanded Women's Super League for the first time in 2014.
"Leaving Everton is by far the hardest decision I've had to make," she said.
Duggan made her England senior debut in September last year and has scored eight goals in 14 international appearances.
She won the England Women's Under-23 Player of the Year award, and in this year's Women's Super League campaign for Everton she scored 13 goals as her side finished in fifth place.
"Everton has played a massive part in my life and I can't express enough my admiration and thanks to them for the opportunities and amazing memories that will live with me forever," she said.
"As hard as it is, I just feel now is the time to move on and continue to challenge myself to become the best player I can be."
