The Barclays Under-21 Premier League Cup tie between Everton and Newcastle Under-21s has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. David Unsworth's young Blues were due to meet the Magpies at Southport's Merseyrail Community Stadium on Monday evening, but a pitch inspection on Sunday morning confirmed that heavy rainfall had taken its toll on the playing surface. The game will be rescheduled in due course.

Once again, Everton Under-21s Premier League Cup tie against Newcastle United - scheduled for Monday evening Jan 4th 2016 - has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
The tie was due to be played at Southport’s Merseyrail Community Stadium but has fallen victim to the wet weather that has hit the region.
It is the second time the match has been called off after it was postponed for similar reasons a fortnight ago.
A new date for the match will be announced in due course.
