Does he give youth a chance rosscrombie or is it just that he doesn't have a big enough squad of senior players when injuries come calling? My guess is that as soon as Baines is fit, it will be curtains for Galloway, and Howard and Barry playing, and Kone, are stopping younger players from getting game time despite them not being much cop. Certainly Baines will return, and we'll be better for it, as Baines offers more both in defence and particularly in attack; but he hasn't shuffled Barry in there, he's given Galloway a shout, and he's done well. Agree Howard has passed his sell-by, but massively disagree about Barry. He may be older, but he's in the right place more often than not; those that call for Mo and McC to be paired together seem to forget the chaos that there's been when they've played. One of the reasons given for Barry's bad season was that he was playing too many games, yet here we are and Martinez is playing Barry in every game again. Now either Martinez was telling porkies, or he simply isn't learning from previous mistakes. I'd like to see more of Gibson also, but once again Martinez went straight to Cleverley on Saturday when McCarthy was injured who is a totally different player to McCarthy.

I liked the bit about checking the league table because it's exactly what I do too. I start dreaming and thinking what if. All your posts have been very good so far and enjoyed them. I look at it lot which accounts for why we never seem to climb it.

I think he's learning, and is far from the finished article. He's got some good ideas, he's a bit set in his ways, unusually for a young manager (young as in relatively inexperienced), and needs to develop more tactical options. Overall, his credit is above his debit for me, not by much, but enough! There are definitely questions every week. He needs an extended period where there are no reasons to doubt him but I've not seen one of those periods for a long time. Every other game, there is cause for concern which troubles me.

There is always controversy with Roberto lol. No Cup game Ross?
