Everton teammates Luke Garbutt and Conor McAleny became opponents this weekend as their two loan clubs clashed in the Championship. Garbutt’s Fulham travelled to The Valley to face McAleny’s Charlton Athletic on Sunday as the hosts staged a stunning late comeback to register a 2-2 draw. Forward McAleny, on loan with the Addicks until 7 November, made his fifth outing - and first league start - for the visit of Kit Symons’ side, lasting 71 minutes before being substituted. Garbutt, meanwhile, made his competitive debut for the Cottagers after recovering from ankle ligament damage, coming off the bench on the hour mark. Ryan Tunnicliffe and Ross McCormack strikes had given the visitors a two-goal advantage, but Johnnie Jackson pulled one back for Charlton with 10 minutes remaining before Jordan Cousins snatched a dramatic equaliser in the sixth minute of stoppage time. In League One, Francisco Junior, returning from injury, was an unused substitute for Wigan Athletic’s goalless home draw with Walsall. Elsewhere, Jordan Thorniley was also an unused substitute as National League North outfit Stockport County recorded a 1-0 smash-and-grab win at Gainsborough. In the division below, goalkeeper Russell Griffiths played the full game as he helped Colwyn Bay to a vital 2-1 home triumph over Stamford in the Evo Stik Northern Premier League. Finally, in the same division, fellow goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek made his second appearance for Hyde United - but could not prevent the Tigers from slipping to a 2-0 defeat at Stourbridge.

I'm happy to hear that Garbutt is fit again but why we loaned him in the first place with everybody injured is beyond me.
