Reading next. Mirallas, Rom, Deulofeu, and Barkley gave some glimpses of what is possible for them to be like together. Need to get our defending sorted and some more quality depth to the team before Tuesday.

Need to get our defending sorted and some more quality depth to the team before Tuesday. If we get off to a good start we have a chance in the cup. Avoiding a situation like we had in Kyiv is important and it nearly happened again last night. If we are to win silverware we can't be careless.

I must admit after watching last nights match my nerves were in absolute tatters. Barnsley totally deserved there 2-0 early lead as we were all over the place and looked totally clueless, I honestly thought at that point, we had had it. As half time approached, even Bobby looked like he wanted to beat seven shades out of someone and left the pitch early, obviously he must have dished some as we came back out in the second half a different team. Taking Mcgeady off was so the right thing to do, he was utterly useless and a total waste of space. However, I must give due praise to young Pennington who I think played fabulously well and looks like a future star. Geri and Ross made a complete difference and we quickly equalised - Geri's goal was stonking Then for Lukaku to get a hat trick was just boss as he was looking a little sh*t earlier on it has to be said, by the end of the match I literally had no nails left. I also felt that Stones just didn't look like he wanted to be there and I was totally disappointed in his performance, whether that was pressures of the transfer business I don't know, but if he wants to go that much that he's not interested in playing well, then perhaps it's time he went. However, I would rather a young good talent like him stay, but only if he's willing to put his all into it. We have to start better then we did yesterday in all of our matches and if Bobby doesn't start Geri on Saturday, he needs a good seeing to. Finally full credit to Barnsley who kept us on our toes all night and fought to the bitter end, I've never seen them play before was so impressed with this young side who I think can only get better and better, well done lads Anyway, we're through and now can look forward to the next match, but please Everton don't put us through that again
