Gerard Deulofeu opens door to Everton stay with Barca return 'difficult'

GERARD DEULOFEU has opened the door to remaining with Everton at the end of his loan spell after admitting a return to parent club Barcelona would be difficult.

Gerard Deulofeu admits a return to Barcelona would be difficult

Deulofeu has struggled to win regular first-team football under Roberto Martinez, with most of his appearances coming in the Capital One Cup so far this season.

But the 19-year-old winger believes he will have an even more difficult task winning playing time if he returns to Barcelona, particularly following the arrival of Neymar this summer.

While Deulofeu has not given up hope of playing for Barca at some point in the future, he accepts he may have to earn regular first-team football elsewhere before he can realise his dream.

Gerard Deulofeu has only had limited opportunities at Everton so far this season
He told Esports COPE: "It would be difficult to return [to Barcelona] because they have very good players.

"Neymar is one of those players you would pay any price for.

"He is one of the reasons why it would complicated, but the club also has one of the best in the world in Messi, as well as Pedro."

Neymar has made Gerard Deulofeu's path to the Barca first-team even more difficult

Everything is possible. It will be a while before he completes his development but he seems a good kid. I've already read on here somewhere that he is likely to stay for a few seasons if both parties agree, so who knows. Very confident young man.
