Dan Turner's second-half double saw Everton Ladies remain unbeaten this WSL 2 season, despite going in at the break 2-0 down against London Bees on Sunday. Goals from Lucy Loomes and Leigh Nicol gave the visitors the advantage, but a strong second 45 saw the Blues come away with a point at the Select Security Stadium. Due to international call-ups, boss Andy Spence made four changes to the side that drew 1-1 against Milwall last week - with Danielle Lea, Megan Alexander, Jess King and Danielle Young replacing Ellie Stewart, Claudia Walker, Millie Turner, and Gabby George. Everton gave themselves something to shout about in the opening half hour with Lucy Whipp turning her marker to test Sophie Harris, but the Blues fell behind on 25 minutes through Loomes. The Toffees lost possession deep in their own half with Katherine Huggins taking full advantage, squaring it to Loomes who rifled a shot past the out-stretching Megan Walsh. And the Bees' second came just before the interval, with Nicol whipping the ball under the crossbar and into the net. Spence brought on Lauren Davies and Faye Bryson for Danielle Lea and Jess King at half-time but it took a moment of brilliance from Dan Turner to reduce defecit. The Everton midfielder picked up possession in her own half, refusing to part with the ball until reaching the opposition area. After taking on several players in the process, she toe-poked the ball past Sophie Harris. Moments later, Turner was played in again on the left-hand side and slotted the ball home for the second time in the afternoon. It could have been a hat-trick for Turner after resolute play from Young, but her shot on the half-volley was miscued allowing Harris to hold onto the effort. With five minutes left, only the crossbar could deny Lindsay Johnson, with the defender meeting Turner's corner to power a header that stung the palms of Harris before striking the bar. No winner was to be forthcoming and Everton Ladies came away having resuced a point that seemed unlikely at the break.
