Everton Loan Round Up April 4th 2015

Five of Everton’s youngsters were in action for their loan clubs on Friday.

Kicking off in the Championship, Chris Long played a part in Brentford’s derby victory over west London rivals Fulham.

The striker came on for the last 17 minutes but was not on the scoresheet despite the Bees winning 4-1. The result keeps Mark Warburton’s side in the hunt for a promotion, consolidating their place in the play-offs.

Dropping down into League One, Francisco Junior sat out injured for Port Vale’s 2-1 home defeat to Colchester United.

There was better news for midfielder John Lundstram and Scunthorpe United. The young Blue played the full 90 minutes of the Iron’s 2-0 success over Peterborough United, a result that left them three points clear of the drop zone.

Gethin Jones made his Plymouth Argyle debut in their 1-1 draw with League Two leaders Burton Albion.

The young Welshman played the full 90 minutes and nearly marked the occasion with a goal. Playing as a right wing-back, Jones burst into the box and was only denied by a good save from Brewers keeper Jon McLaughlin.

Finally, George Green followed up his man-of-the-match debut for Tranmere Rovers with another influential display in their 2-2 draw with Stevenage.

First he set up Jennison Myrie-Williams for the opener then, after Boro equalised, it was Green’s cross that was headed back across goal for Kayode Odejayi to put Rovers 2-1 ahead.

But a late equaliser from Charlie Lee robbed them of two vital points, and leaves Tranmere still in the relegation zone in League Two.
