The new Hawk-Eye technology for goal line decisions has been installed at Goodison Park ahead of Everton's new Premier League season. After FIFA approved the use of technology for goal line decisions, the Premier League agreed a deal with British company Hawk-Eye, whose technology is already in widespread use in both the Tennis and Cricket. The system was also installed throughout the other 19 Premier League grounds up and down the country. Hawk-Eye will use 14 cameras around Goodison Park to track the ball and when a goal is scored the referee will be notified by his watch and ear-piece within a second of the ball crossing the line. The system is also capable of creating a graphical representation of the incident to visually prove whether a goal has or hasn't been scored in contentious decisions.

Lets hope its better than the cricket has been this summer I don't watch much cricket but with you saying that it now clicked what they were on about with putting something on the bats. Last year, a bad decision against Newcastle took us out of our stride. Just hope there is no way to fiddle it. i.e put it on the big screen for all to see.

That was a bit of stupid story, they have always had tape on cricket bats.
