Everton transfer news: Martinez lines up Anderson Everton are readying a raid on Manchester United for Brazilian midfielder Anderson. After much furore over potential moves for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines it now appears there will be a high-profile transfer move between Goodison Park and Old Trafford after all. The roles are set to be reversed however, as Everton manager Roberto Martinez lines up a move for United midfielder Anderson. Moyes is understood to have identified Anderson as a fringe-player the club can afford to move on. The former Everton manager plans to raise funds used to re-shape the midfield inherited from previous Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson. Anderson, 25, featured in 17 league games for United last year, grabbing one assist. The Brazilian international joined the Premier League champions as a 19-year old from Portuguese outfit FC Porto for a fee of £20 million. United are unlikely to be able to recoup much of that figure however, with Martinez expected to table an offer in the region of £7m. Anderson would follow former team-mate Darren Gibson in making the move to Goodison Park, who joined Everton in a bid to claim more first team playing time in 2012.

If he can't get in that United midfield there must be something wrong. It's their worst I've seen in ages.
