Everton look to rescue Scott Sinclair from City doldrums

Goodison Park side set sights on Etihad Stadium bit-part player.

Everton are to give Manchester City flop Scott Sinclair a lifeline by attempting to take the 24 year-old off the Etihad Stadium side’s hands according to the Daily Star.

The English winger signed for Manchester club last summer, from Welsh side Swansea City, for £6.2million. He later went on to have very little impact for City, spending the majority of his season on the bench and the training ground.

Although newly appointed City boss Pellgrini is yet to comment on Sinclair’s future at the club, with the recent arrival of Jesus Navas, it appears he will not feature in his plans for next season either.

Toffee’s manager Roberto Martinez is looking to bring the former Chelsea starlet to come to Goodison Park this summer to kick start his career once more, in a bid to push for European football once more.

The Spanish manager has already brought three players from his previous club Wigan [Alcaraz, Kone and Joel] and signed Barcelona wonder kid Gerard Deulofeu on a season long loan.

It appears the Blues see Sinclair as a cheaper option than Chelsea’s out of sorts Nigerian, Victor Moses, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Wigan last summer – for £9million.

Newcastle United are another club interested in signing the Manchester City flop as they look to add to their attacking options this summer, especially after reports that Papiss Cisse is looking to force a move away from St James’ Park.

Neither side have submitted a formal bid for the player, so at the moment, his future seems unclear.
