Everton Ladies have completed the signing of Claudia Walker from neighbours Liverpool. The 18-year-old, whose previous clubs also include Stoke City, was a regular in the Reds’ title-winning squad of 2014, but now has a solely Blue focus ahead of the upcoming WSL 2 campaign. Walker feels the chance to link up with Toffees’ boss Andy Spence can only aid her progression as a player. She said: “I am really looking forward to working with him (Spence),” said the England Under-19 international. “He is a great manager and can only help my progress and development as a player. “Joining Everton Ladies is a fantastic chance for me; there will be more opportunities in this league to get even more game time.” The attacking midfielder has already been introduced to her new teammates, with the Blues ranks also including a familiar face from the international stage. “I have only been here a very short time and I already feel at home,” continued Walker. “The girls are really friendly and I can’t wait to get the season started. “I have played with Paige Williams at international level and it will now be great to link up with her at a club set-up. She is a fantastic player and is again someone who can help me develop as a player. “I can’t wait to get the season started!” The Blues kick-off their season away at Aston Villa on 18 March before hosting their first WSL2 fixture at the Select Security Stadium in Widnes against London Bees on 5 April.
