Manchester United top national league of arrests with 112
Police arrested 58 Liverpool fans and 47 Everton fans
More than 100 Liverpool FC and Everton FC fans were arrested for football-related offences last season.
Home Office figures released today show 58 Reds fans and 47 Blues fans were detained inside and outside grounds.
But the total arrests for both sets of fans combined were below the 112 arrests racked up by Manchester United.
United topped the national 'league of shame' for the most arrests - with Manchester City in second with 71.
Some 67 Arsenal fans were arrested, with Sunderland fourth (62) and Liverpool fifth.
Of the Liverpool fans arrested, 15 were held for violent disorder, 14 for public disorder, one for missile throwing, four for pitch invasion and two for ticket touting.
Sixteen were held for alcohol offences, four for use or possession of fireworks or flares, one for breaching a banning order and two for offences against property.
Everton's 47 arrests included one for violent disorder, 19 for public disorder, two for missile throwing, three for pitch invasion, 12 for alcohol offences, two for ticket touting and one for possession or use of an offensive weapon.
Five were for use or possession of fireworks or flares, and two for offences against property.
Overall, the number of arrests of fans of all league clubs, in all competitions, fell by 183 to 2,273.
The number of arrests for the 2013-14 season is the lowest on record and continues a general downward trend. In 2000-01, the figure was 4,162.
Some 832 of the detained fans supported a Premier League club. Nine of those arrests were for racist or offensive chanting - although none by Everton or Liverpool fans.
The figures do not adjust for the size of each club's support - meaning clubs who have much bigger home and away followings are more likely to end up at the top of the 'league of shame'.
The number of football banning orders decreased by seven per cent to 2,273 on September 3 this year, compared to 2,451 on September 20, 2013. There were 678 new banning orders, although many more expired.
Currently 40 banning orders are active at Liverpool and 30 at Everton. Newcastle have the most banning orders - 127 - with 95 imposed last season.
The arrest statistics cover all offences designated in law under Schedule 1 of the Football Spectators Act 1989 reported by police to the UK Football Policing Unit.
This includes football-specific offences, such as pitch invasion and throwing missiles inside a stadium, as well as a range of generic criminal offences committed in connection with a football match.
