Nottingham Forest have sacked two staff members heavily involved in the club's questionable summer recruitment that saw 22 players join the club for a combined £150million.
The newly-promoted side, who are sat second bottom of the Premier League, have confirmed that both the head of recruitment George Syrianos and head scout Andy Scott have both left the City Ground.
Their exits follow Filippo Giraldi's arrival as sporting director last week - but it is understood owner Evangelos Marinakis was part of the decision.
It comes after Sportsmail revealed senior figures could depart earlier this week after the club spent £150million on revitalising Steve Cooper's squad after their promotion from the Championship. Forest spent big on the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White, Taiwo Awoniyi, Emmanuel Dennis, and Remo Freuler while also bringing in big names such as Jesse Lingard as they prepared for their return to the top-flight for the first time in 23 years.
Head of recruitment Syrianos joined Forest from Stuttgart where he was head of data and analytics and was key to some of the signings hailing from the Bundesliga this summer - notably former Liverpool striker Awoniyi from Union Berlin for £17.5m.
Head of scouting Scott, 50, previously worked with Swansea, Watford and Brentford before his stint with Forest.
Forest have made these decisions after amassing just five points from nine Premier League matches, collecting only two from their last seven games.
Only Wolves - who they meet at Molineux on Saturday - have scored fewer than their seven goals and only Leicester have conceded more than their 22.
Despite their difficult start to the campaign, manager Cooper signed a new five-year contract last week when the club sat bottom after eight games.
Forest have since climbed up to 19th in the Premier League table after sealing a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on Monday evening.
