Reading have appointed Paul Ince as their new manager after a three-month interim spell in charge of the Championship club.
Ince’s job has been made permanent for the 2022-22 campaign.
The 54-year-old took over at Reading following Veljko Paunovic’s departure in February, when the Berkshire club were one place above the relegation zone.
Ince, the former Manchester United and Inter Milan midfielder, earned 15 points from his 14 games in charge which were enough to keep Reading in the Championship.
Reading finished 21st in the division, four points above Peterborough.
He will be joined in the 2022-23 season by his assistant Alex Rae, who had also been at Reading on an interim basis.
On Ince’s appointment, Reading CEO Dayong Pang said, “Paul and Alex were brought into Bearwood to instil confidence, structure, spirit and determination into a first-team squad which in difficult circumstances had lost its way early in the year.
