Part of a stadium terrace has collapsed at an Eredivisie match between Vitesse and NEC on Sunday - it is currently unknown whether any of the supporters in the stand have been injured A scary incident unfolded when part of a stand collapsed during a Dutch football match between Vitesse and NEC Nijmegen on Sunday afternoon.
NEC hosted Vitesse at the Goffertstadion in an Eredivisie clash which ended 1-0 in favour of the away side.
The players proceeded to celebrate in front of their fans after the full-time whistle but the stand appeared to wobble before giving way completely, sending the Vitesse faithful tumbling down.
It appeared the Vitesse players were visibly stunned for a brief moment at what had unfolded in front of them before resuming their celebrations. The away side's win comes following a 16th-minute goal from Nikolai Baden, putting them in 6th place while NEC fall to 11th.
Vitesse were delighted with the win over their bitter rivals prior to the shocking stand collapse. It is currently unknown whether any fans have been injured in the incident.
