Football Insider have reported previously that Manchester City are interested in signing Holgate, who is valued at £40 million by the Toffees. John Stones could even move the other way in part-exchange and former Premier League midfielder Michael Brown believes that the defender would jump at the chance to move to the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “Well the fact of the matter is he won’t want to turn it down and that’s no disrespect to Everton, he’s done great there, he’s looking good and it looks like he’s going to play games.
“A club like Manchester City are just on another level to Everton at the moment and that’s life. Geographically it’s good, so if that was the case you’d see him wanting to go and work with Pep as well.
“That’s just the walk of life and I’m sure every Evertonian would agree it’s going to be tough one to say he’d turn them down if that was the case.”

This is going to be a real test of Ancelotti's man-managerial credentials in not only persuading Holgate that forward progress is nearer than both our club rivals and short-terming headline journalists would wish to believe.
Digne, Pickford and Richarlison are all on the world's shopping list.
It may not mean a big spending Summer transfer window, but the transactions made have less room for error than possibly any in our club's history.
In other words: Brands, Moshiri AND Ancelotti have to play massive games over the following weeks and months - regardless of failing to get into Europe, or otherwise.

Money talks and I think if clubs offer enough , one or more of those players will go. Unfortunately if a player wants to move and his head is turned , there is little any club can do about it. We don't need another Lescott etc. scenario

According to Turkish newspaper Fotomac, Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi wants to bring Cenk Tosun back to the club, as the 29 year old could leave Everton to get regular first-team football next season.
Tosun is currently recovering from a knee injury which he picked up whilst on loan at Crystal Palace, and the Turkish international is expected to return at the start of November.
Fotomac claim Everton are also looking to loan out Tosun once again, as he’s not included in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans for next season.
A return to Besiktas could be on the cards and the club’s president Ahmet Nur Cebi will personally talk to Tosun over a return to his former club.
Besiktas manager Sergen Yalcin is also said to be a big fan of the player and he believes signing Tosun could significantly increase their chances of winning the league title next season.
Local rivals Fenerbahce have also been linked with the player in the past week.
Tosun’s contract with Everton will expire at the end of June 2022
