Henry Onyekuru struck a late goal as Anderlecht salvaged a draw from their trip to fellow mid-table team Kortrijk in the Belgian top flight. The hosts led after two early second-half goals had turned the game on its head following Hamdi Harbaoui’s 23rd-minute opener. But Nigerian forward Onyekuru pounced with 14 minutes to play to earn his loan side a point – one week after his double helped Anderlecht to a 3-2 victory over Lokeren. Callum Connolly came out on top in a battle of two Everton youngsters as Ipswich Town saw off Bolton Wanderers 2-0 in the Championship. Defender Connolly played the first half at Portman Road, with left-back Antonee Robinson completing 90 minutes for the Trotters, as the Suffolk club secured victory courtesy of goals from Cole Skuse and David McGoldrick. Liam Walsh started on the bench for Birmingham but was introduced after just four minutes following a hamstring injury suffered by Blues’ midfielder Jason Lowe. Birmingham let slip a one-goal lead to lose 3-1 to Preston North End, with the result - a sixth defeat on the spin for the St Andrew's team - costing manager Harry Redknapp his job. Former Everton midfielder Lee Carsley has taken temporary charge and is tasked with steering Birmingham out of the bottom three. Midfielder Joe Williams was in the Barnsley side beaten 3-0 at home by Aston Villa in Saturday’s tea-time Championship fixture. The Yorkshire side's defeat saw them drop to 20th, while Villa climb to 13th. Attacker Kieran Dowell, meanwhile, was replaced after 62 minutes in Nottingham Forest’s 2-1 City Ground loss to second-placed Wolves. Matthew Pennington is still recovering from the ankle injury he suffered on the season’s opening day and missed table-topping Leeds’ single-goal defeat at Millwall. Pennington’s fellow centre-half Tyias Browning was an unused substitute in Sunderland’s 1-1 draw at Hull. Brendan Galloway, however, did not feature in the Black Cats’ squad as they were pegged back by old-boy David Meyler’s 82nd-minute leveller. And in League Two, Conor Grant was not fit to feature for Crewe, who went down to a 3-0 defeat at early frontrunners Exeter City. Grant sustained a head injury playing for the Railwaymen against Grimsby a fortnight ago.
