Turner Confident Everton Ladies Can ThriveCentre of Excellence graduate latest to turn professional with Everton. The camaraderie among the Everton Ladies squad made turning professional with the Blue Girls an easy decision for Danielle Turner. The Centre of Excellence graduate is the latest to pen full-time terms and says this is the most exciting time she can remember in her 10 years at the Club. Everton are now back in WSL 1, have transitioned into a full-time club and boosted their ranks with a number of additions, and Turner believes that sets them up nicely ahead of the new season, when Everton open up with a Merseyside derby on 24 September. “It has been great to see some new faces come into the group,” she told evertontv. “They are integrating well and those who were here before have helped with that. We have already created a really good team spirit and that will only get better. It will stand us in really good stead of the season ahead. “We are under no illusions - we know WSL 1 will be tough. But at the same time, we aren’t there to make up the numbers. We are going to push to be as high as we can in that table. “And there is no better way to mark our return to WSL 1 than a Merseyside derby! The girls are buzzing, there is a real bounce in training and we can’t wait to get going.” Having penned her new deal, Turner can now focus on playing her part in helping the Toffees consolidate their place back in the top flight. The 25-year-old has endured both ups and downs in her time at Everton, but her professional deal fulfils a childhood dream and she hopes for many more highlights in the coming years. “I have been here over 10 years and have worked my way from the Centre of Excellence through the Development Squad and into the first team,” she added. “I have been on that rollercoaster of emotions that we have had over the last few years but I am really looking forward to the start of the season now. “It’s a dream come true to turn professional. Ever since I was a little girl it is all that I have wanted to be, so to have fulfilled that now is amazing. It’s extra special to do it at this club. I have been here for a while now and we are really going in the right direction. It’s exciting times so I am over the moon.”
