'Timing Couldn't Be Better!'Ladies defender Bryson delighted her first senior contract is a professional one.Faye Bryson admits she couldn’t have picked a more perfect moment to sign her first senior contract at Everton Ladies. Having worked her way into the first team group from the Development squad, the full-back put pen to paper on a professional contract on Tuesday - her 20th birthday! It is the defender's first after making the senior squad, and Bryson says the chance to go full-time as well is an added bonus. “It is a brilliant time to sign my first contract,” she told evertontv. “You can see all over the Club that it is an exciting time. So to sign my first deal as we are going professional is even more thrilling for me. “I have been at Everton for eight years and ever since I arrived I have aspired to be in the first-team squad. I’ve done it now and I have the added bonus of being a professional as well, which makes it even better. “I had to be patient in the Spring Series. There was competition for my position and at the start of the season I had to sit on the bench and watch. But when I had my opportunity I tried to show what I could do. Now I have been given a pro contract and I couldn’t be more thankful.” Bryson ended the Spring Series as the Blue Girls’ starting right wing-back, with the 21-year-old scoring her first goal for the Club in the win over Aston Vila. But she recognises the need to keep impressing if she is to hold down a first-team place in WSL 1 in 2017/18. “I know that the hard work starts now,” she added. “We all know it is obviously a challenge but we are ready for it. “We have already been in for a week and you can see that the girls are raring to go already. There is a great buzz around the place. It's not just among the players but the staff as well. “It’s a big deal to see so many players committing their futures to the Club as well. You can see that there is something happening here, and the commitment the Club has shown us is brilliant.”
