Everton Ladies can confirm that they have been selected by the FA Women’s Football Board to play in Women’s Super League 1 for the 2017/18 season. With Notts County’s liquidation opening up a slot in the top flight, two WSL 2 clubs applied to fill the vacancy, with the Blue Girls selected as the successful club. The teams playing in the WSL 1 for the 2017/18 season will be ratified at the FA’s AGM on Wednesday 28 June. The decision sees the Toffees back in the top flight of women’s football after two seasons in WSL 2. Aaron Little, the team's General Manager, said plans are already underway to ensure Everton are ready ahead of the season kicking off in September. “We knew it was a possibility that we could be promoted but to have it confirmed is welcome news. For the past number of weeks we have been planning for both scenarios in terms of player recruitment and retention. “Now that we know we will be competing in the top division once again we can really begin to work hard towards ensuring we are here to stay. This is something I am extremely confident of doing. “We are under no illusions how tough it will be. The standard of football within the women’s game is increasing year on year but we are ready to make our mark. “I would like to thank all Club staff who have helped put our application together. The ‘one-club’ philosophy continues to go from strength to strength and with their continued support, we can look forward to an exciting future for Everton Ladies.”

Fantastic news for our Ladies team.
Everything is coming together for the ladies, and our youth teams, so now we just need the men's team to push on.

He might have to improve his squad if they're going to survive in that league. The ones who left must be gutted.
