Everton Under-23s’ Premier League 2 fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday 10 April will now take place at Goodison Park - and will be streamed live on Facebook. David Unsworth’s side are top of the table and could clinch the title with victory should second-placed Manchester City fail to beat Derby County on Saturday. The young Blues were scheduled to take on Spurs at Southport’s Merseyrail Community Stadium, but the 7pm kick-off has been moved to Goodison. Entry is free for Season Ticket holders and Foreverton members, with admission otherwise priced at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.

Report: Under-23s 4-1 SpursYoung Blues take step closer to league title after goals from Lookman, Sambou, Dowell and Calvert-Lewin. Everton Under-23s took another step closer to the Premier League 2 title with a 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park. The result means David Unsworth’s side require two points from their final two games of the season to guarantee the league crown. After a first half of few clear-cut opportunities Ademola Lookman bundled the ball home just after the hour following a marauding run by centre-back Brendan Galloway. Substitute Bassala Sambou then doubled the advantage with a stunning 25-yard drive into the top corner of the Howard Kendall Gwladys Street net seven minutes later. The drama was not over, though, with the visitors pulling one back with 19 minutes remaining when Kazaiah Sterling nodded home from close range. But the Toffees restored their two-goal advantage four minutes later via another stunning long-range effort, this time from Kieran Dowell. Dominic Calvert-Lewin then sealed the victory in the closing minutes, slotting home into an empty net after a mishit clearance by Spurs goalkeeper Tom Glover. Another positive from the evening was the first appearance of Muhamed Besic, who returned to action after more than eight months out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in Wayne Rooney’s testimonial in pre-season. The Bosnian international played 45 minutes before being withdrawn at half-time. Next up for the Under-23s is a trip to Chelsea on Friday 21 April, before a Merseyside mini derby at Goodison Park to close the campaign on Monday 8 April. Everton Under-23s: Hewelt, Kenny, Robinson, Feeney, Galloway, Besic (Charsley, 45), Williams, Walsh, Lookman (Sambou, 65), Calvert-Lewin, Dowell (Henen, 84). Unused substitutes: Gray, Foulds.
