Everton Ladies have completed the signing of England Under-19 striker Mollie Green from Liverpool Ladies. The forward has joined in time to potentially make her Blue Girls debut in the WSL Spring Series fixture at Millwall Lionesses on Sunday. Green is delighted to have made the switch and admitted her mind was quickly made up after speaking with manager Andy Spence. “I am absolutely buzzing to join Everton,” said the 19-year-old. “I’m really looking forward to getting started and meeting up with all the girls. “The move was mentioned about two weeks ago, so it was quite quick. But as soon as I met Andy and heard what he had to say about the Club and what he had planned, it was a no-brainer. “The Club has so much going for them, with the facilities they have got, the staff here and the professionalism with things like nutritionists. The group of girls here already and the calibre of player they want to attract also impressed me. I feel like I can really develop my game.” Green joins fellow new recruits Amber Stobbs and Olivia Chance in boosting the forward options at Spence’s disposal. While she recognises she has plenty of competition for places at her new Club, Green is keen to press her claims for game time, and is eager to make her Toffees debut against Millwall on Sunday. “I am a goalscorer,” she said. “I like to create chances for myself and for my teammates. A big part of my game is linking up with others and bringing other attackers into the game. If I am scoring goals and creating them then I am doing my job. “I am joining an attack that are in form, which is great. Hopefully I can bring more goals – that is my aim – but it is up to me to stake my claim for a place in the side. I will work as hard as I can to get on that pitch. “I am really excited for the game on Sunday. I have a week’s training to go out and show that I deserve a place in the squad, so hopefully I can do that and go on to make my debut against Millwall.” Everton FC

If that was the men's team there'd be civil war ha ha.
Good luck to Mollie all the same.

Spence Excited By Green PotentialAndy Spence is thrilled to have the chance to work with ‘exciting prospect’ Mollie Green. Everton captured the 19-year-old forward from city rivals Liverpool on Tuesday, their third signing of the season. Spence is delighted to have added Green to his group and is looking forward to helping her develop her game. “Mollie is an exciting prospect for us and very much fits the profile of the type of player we want to bring into Everton,” he said. “She has big ambitions, is enthusiastic about her game, and that has already come across. She has a lot of good foundations already in place and we are delighted to have her on board. “Mollie brings a lot of different qualities – she is very good in one-v-one situations and is happy to get at players and beat them. She is a good finisher with an impressive record at her previous club Liverpool and with England as well. We are getting someone who is not just a goal threat but also a threat in general in terms of assists and bringing others into play. At the heart of that is someone who works really hard as well, which is important to us.” The England youth international boosts a Toffees attack that has netted 15 goals in just five games. And Spence believes Green adds a fresh option to the group. “In the forward areas, if you are ever looking to change things or you need to get back into a game, then the more options we have and the more combinations we can produce can only be a good thing. “Mollie will add to that and joins a group of forwards who have already made a decent start to the season. We will look to add to that and build on it, and Mollie comes into that thinking.” Everton FC
