Loan Round-Up - 27 FebruaryConor McAleny scored a stunning hat-trick has he helped loan club Oxford United thump Chesterfield. The U’s closed the gap on the League One play-off places to just four points and had attacker McAleny to thank, as he netted a pair of long range stunners before rounding off a memorable day with a coolly-taken third. Another Everton loanee among the goals this weekend was Aiden McGeady, who netted the equaliser in Preston North End’s 2-1 win over QPR. Fellow Blue Tyias Browning did not feature due to a knee injury, with Lilywhites’ boss Simon Grayson commenting after the game, “Tyias slipped in training and landed awkwardly on his knee. He’s going to be out for six weeks.” Elsewhere in the Championship, Gethin Jones played the full 90 minutes as Barnsley drew 1-1 with high-flying Huddersfield Town, while Callum Connolly was an unused sub in Wigan’s 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest. Dropping into League Two, a pair of Everton youngsters went head-to-head at Morecambe’s Globe Arena as Antony Evans squared off with Grimsby Town’s Calum Dyson. The former played 70 minutes, with the latter featuring throughout, as the Shrimps edged the game 1-0. At the other end of the League Two table, Doncaster Rovers had to settle for a hard won point over Accrington Stanley. Conor Grant played the full 90 minutes as Rovers failed to win for the fifth successive game. Up in the Premier League, Oumar Niasse made a second half cameo as Hull City missed the chance to climb out the bottom three. The Senegalese frontman was introduced on 67 minutes and saw his side go ahead through Tom Huddlestone’s penalty. But Michael Keane rescued a point for opponents Burnley. Tom Cleverley’s Watford earned a point at home to West Ham, but Brendan Galloway was not involved at all in West Brom’s 2-1 success over Bournemouth. In Germany, Hertha Berlin won 2-1 over Shani Tarashaj’s Eintracht Frankfurt, swapping places with them in the process, meaning the Eagles are now sixth. Another European-based Toffee was in also action - Gerard Deulofeu played the full 90 minutes as a Carlos Bacca penalty helped Milan beat Sassuolo. Steven Kinsella was an unused sub as Dundalk opened their League of Ireland campaign with a 2-1 win over Shamrock Rovers, and Russell Griffiths also didn’t feature from the bench as Motherwell were beaten 5-1 by Dundee.
