John Hollingsworth joined Everton as club doctor in 2015 and has been a consultant emergency physician at Aintree University Hospital.

He was promoted to Director of Medical at Everton following the departure of Dr Aboul Shaheir in 2017.

John infamously reset Andre Gomes' ankle after being one of the first to rush to his aid when he fell to the turf with 12 minutes of the Tottenham contest remaining.

Gomes believes Hollingsworth's decisive response, along with that of other Club medics in getting the 26-year-old immediate medical attention, contributed to him being able to have surgery the following day and, ultimately, begin his comeback programme within a matter of weeks.
