Allan Marques Loureiro, better known as simply Allan, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Everton.

Although born in Brazil, Allan holds dual Portuguese-Brazilian nationality, making him eligible to play for Brazil or Portugal. He is also elegible to play for Italy, as he has a distant Italian relative, and despite former Italia coach Roberto Mancini asking him to switch allegiances, it would be Brazil where he'd play international football.

After starting out in the Madureira youth system in his home country, he joined Uruguayan club Deportivo Maldonado, but later returned to Brazil and made his professional debut with Vasco da Gama in 2009.

Allan joined Italian club Udinese in 2012, before moving to fellow Serie A side Napoli in 2015.

He has played for Brazil at u20 level, reaching the final of the 2011 FIFA U20 World Cup in 2011.

He made his senior international debut for Brazil in a friendly against Uruguay, in November 2018, held at the Emirates stadium, home of Arsenal in London.

In May 2019, Allan was included in Brazil's 23-man squad for the 2019 Copa América in which Brazil beat Peru 3-1 in the final.

Considered by many pundits as being one of the best midfielders in world football, Allan operates primarily as a defensive midfielder, or as a central midfielder in the mezzala role, and is equally comfortable at playing both attacking and defensive midfield.

On 5th September 2929, Everton announced that Allan had signed a 3 year deal with the club.

Allan stated: "It is a real pleasure to sign for Everton. I am immensely happy to be here," Allan told evertontv. "I hope, like I have done in my entire career, I contribute with my performances together with my teammates and that I put in some great games, great performances and win important things.

"It is a club with a rich history in the Premier League, has real ambition and then there is Professor Ancelotti. "He has done everything possible to bring me here. It is the size of the Club and the name of the coach which means you don’t think twice about coming to Everton."

"A strong part of my game is marking and the desire going in to win absolutely every ball," he explained. "I believe with my desire I can put in really good performances to win the fans over and I hope to win thingsas well. There will be a tremendous amount of dedication from me, a lot of dedication – a lot.

I received many messages from Everton fans and that made me really happy and confident in the work I can do here."

On 25th September 2022, Allan left Everton, signing a 2 year contract with UAE club Al Whada FC.
