Everton Under-23s can regain top spot in Premier League 2 with a victory over Leicester City at Southport on Monday evening. With Manchester City not in action, three points will see David Unsworth’s side climb from second position back to the summit of the standings. A win would also complete a double over the Foxes after the 4-1 success in the corresponding fixture back in August. The Toffees enter the game in good form and on the back of a 3-1 win against Portsmouth in the Premier League Cup last week. Entry to the game is free for Season Ticket holders and Foreverton members or otherwise £5 for adults and £3 for concessions on the turnstile.

Everton Under-23s moved back to the top of the Premier League 2 table with an excellent 4-1 win over Leicester City on Monday evening. Two goals in quick succession at the start of the second half from Oumar Niasse and Harry Charsley put David Unsworth’s side in firm control, before substitute Courtney Duffus sealed the win in the 90th minute. Earlier in the game, Callum Connolly nodded Everton ahead, only for the lead to be wiped out by Foxes winger Jeff Schlupp. Niasse tapped in from inside the six-yard box just a minute after the restart before turning provider in the Toffees’ next attack, cutting the ball back for Charsley to steer in with a precise first-time effort. Duffus stepped off the bench with 10 minutes remaining to complete the scoring with a composed far-post finish. The victory sees Everton leapfrog Manchester City to occupy a two-point advantage at the summit of the standings after 12 fixtures.

It seems the club can't find it in their hearts to use a picture of Oumar Niasse, so glad we had a spare one.
IOf only the seniors played like the u23's.

If we were to take some of the players, would they still play for the under 21's? I'd hate to cost them the league.
