Period Of Silence On SundayEverton Football Club will hold a period of silence ahead of kick-off at Sunday’s match against Manchester United in memory of those who lost their lives in Colombia earlier this week. Seventy-one people, including most of the players from Brazilian side Chapecoense, were tragically killed in a plane crash on Monday. The thoughts and prayers of Everton remain with the families of those who lost their lives and were severely injured in the accident. The aircraft was transporting the Chapecoense football team from Brazil for the first leg of their two-game Copa Sudamericana final against Atletico Nacional of Medellin. In solidarity with our football family all over the world, we will mourn the passing of the victims of this tragedy with a period of silence at Goodison Park on Sunday. Everton FC

'We Have To Perform'Everton’s squad are itching to "put things right" when they take on Manchester United at Goodison Park, says Seamus Coleman. The Blues' right-back is well aware that one win in their previous eight league games is some way short of the standards expected but is eager to address that form on Sunday. Speaking candidly to evertontv, Coleman said: “The way things are going at the minute, we just want to get out there and put things right. At the end of the day, you can say all of the right things but you have to go out and do it on the pitch. “It is going to be a tough game against Manchester United, but we have to go out and perform and do so for 90 minutes – not for 45. “We can take confidence from the home record. The home form has been good. If we beat United on Sunday, we go above them in the league. “We have to look forward, do the right things and when we come off that pitch we have to be able to look in the mirror. There have been some games recently where we haven't been good enough. We may have played well in spells but we need to do it over the 90 minutes.” Coleman was the late saviour for Everton in their previous home outing against Swansea, netting an 89th-minute equaliser. The Irishman believes the Blues’ luck will turn if they keep working hard on and off the pitch. “I just try to approach things the same way every day,” he added. “I try to do the right things. Some games, things don’t go right for you but that’s not an excuse for you stop trying to do things correctly. “You have to keep being professional and, if we can do that, then hopefully our luck will turn.” For more from Seamus Coleman, tune in to this week's edition of The Everton Show at 7pm show on Made in Liverpool (Freeview 7 and Virgin 159).
