Everton Under-18s 0-0 Blackburn RoversEverton Under-18s extended their unbeaten run to seven games with a 0-0 away draw against in-form Blackburn Rovers.Kevin Sheedy’s young Blues edged a highly competitive contest and looked more likely to take all three points after the hosts were reduced to 10 men just before the half-time interval. But, despite their best efforts, the Toffees were kept at bay - and summer recruit Chris Renshaw was called into action late on, making three outstanding saves to ensure the Toffees would take a point. Coach Sheedy said: “We’re frustrated and a bit disappointed we couldn’t take one of our chances and I felt we gave the ball away a bit too easily at times. “But I can’t fault the effort of the players who gave it their all. It was just one of those days where it wouldn’t go in for us and credit to Blackburn who showed great determination after going a man down. “We’ve taken lessons from it. After the game we spoke about how it was to play against 10 men and what we could have done a bit differently to get that goal. “It means our unbeaten run goes on and we want to use it as a platform to really kick on.” The Under-18s are next in action on 5 November when they host West Bromwich Albion. Everton XI: Renshaw, Morris, Harrington, Lees, Collins, Bramall, Baningime (Duke-McKenna, 60), Kiersey, Moore (Kerr, 70), Ball (Mampala, 82), Lavery. Unused substitutes: Jones, Scully.
