We are due a big performance and I think this could be the game where the floodgates open so I predict a 5-0 win for the blue army! I love the optimism. Could be some changes I think. Drop Jags. He's been a weak link lately.

Yannick Bolasie discusses his budding friendship with Romelu Lukaku in Sunday’s issue of the matchday programme. The DR Congo winger arrived from Crystal Palace in the summer and has started every Premier League game for the Blues since making his debut off the bench in the 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion in August. And Bolasie, who netted his first goal for the Club last weekend, has revealed he has been in contact with new teammate Lukaku for a number of years. “Whenever I played against Everton, [Lukaku] would always ask me ‘when are you going to come here?” he said. “Obviously he has put in a good word for me because now I am here!” “It’s flattering to have a player like him wanting you to join him. Rom is one of the best goalscorers in the Premier League and when he is on his game he is unplayable. If I can be unplayable as well then hopefully we can strike up a good partnership. “I heard something like that floating about!” (on his rumoured 10-goal target). “I think it was more of a joke between Rom, myself and the gaffer. But knowing Rom, he’s a serious guy so probably meant it seriously! “Personally speaking, why can’t I do it? It is certainly achievable, especially considering the way we play. That will definitely help me score goals. It was nice to get off the mark at Burnley. Even though it wasn’t a positive result and that dampened it a bit, it was great to score and I’m really looking forward to the West Ham game now to hopefully carry that on.” Andy Johnson, a close friend of Bolasie after the pair’s time together at Crystal Palace, also features, with the former England striker explaining why he believes the winger is the perfect fit at Goodison Park. Elsewhere in in Sunday’s matchday read, Liam Walsh discusses the Under-23s’ flying start to the campaign and his personal goals for the season, while Under-18s defender Nathan Baxter plots his journey from Holland to Merseyside. There is also a feature interview with former West Ham full-back Scott Minto and Dave Evans, West Ham correspondent for the Recorder Newspapers, provides the lowdown on Slaven Bilic’s improving side. Okay, I played there and everything but it’s mostly because of the stadium and the crowd is very good there.” It will be a welcome away trip for Bilic as he and his his team hope to put Wednesday’s crowd trouble at the London Stadium behind them. Maarten Stekelenburg misses today’s Premier League fixture against West Ham United through injury. The Dutchman’s absence means there is a first competitive appearance of the season for Joel Robles.Meanwhile, Phil Jagielka is on the bench, with Ramiro Funes Mori coming into the starting line-up to play at centre-back. With Ronald Koeman confirming earlier in the week that Leighton Baines is still sidelined with a hamstring problem, Bryan Oviedo keeps his place at left-back. Enner Valencia is ineligible to play against his parent club, so there is a place on the bench for youngster Dominic Calvert-Lewin who signed for Everton from Sheffield United on transfer deadline day. Gareth Barry wears the captain’s armband for the Toffees this afternoon. “Maarten Stekelenburg has a foot injury. We did a fitness test this morning but he wasn’t 100 per cent to start,” the Everton manager confirmed. “We want to protect Phil Jagielka a little bit. He has played every game and we’ve got a busy period. It’s about his freshness. He is not ready to start today and that is the reason for the change.” Having referred midweek to personality and character, the Blues boss added: “We can talk a lot and show a lot but it’s all about what happens on the pitch and to have that personality to win a game. Out of that personality, we need qualities. We need to be more clinical and to be more productive up front - and that’s not by one player, we need to improve [offensively]. “Of course [we need more support for Romelu Lukaku]. It’s good to have a good goalscorer in your team but other offensive players need to be more clinical and we need more goals. It’s all about the offensive part of football.”
