David Moyes ready to raid Everton again as he looks to bring £15 million Seamus Coleman to Manchester United
The Reds boss paid only £60,000 for the 25-year-old to take him to Goodison Park - and now he's ready to spend big to get his former player Friends reunited? Moyes wants to bring Coleman to Old Trafford
David Moyes is ready to make a £15million raid on his former club Everton for a full-back ... and it’s not Leighton Baines, writes Tom Hopkinson of the Sunday People . The Manchester United manager is a huge admirer of right-back Seamus Coleman and hopes to beat Arsenal in the summer race to sign him. Moyes, whose side take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge today, paid just £60,000 to pluck 25-year-old Coleman from League of Ireland side Sligo Rovers in 2008 and helped turn him into one of the top defenders in the Premier League. Now he is ready to make the Irishman his second buy from Everton after shelling out £27.5m for Marouane Fellaini during the last transfer window. Moyes has been criticised for that signing in some quarters, with the Belgian international struggling to adapt to life at Old Trafford. The Scot has been rebuffed in his attempts to prise Baines away from Goodison but that won’t put him off returning for Coleman, who he rates more highly than current right-back Fabio. United’s interest in Coleman will come as a blow to Arsenal, who see the player as an ideal replacement for Bacary Sagna, should he leave in the summer. Sagna has already been offered a four-year deal by Turkish club Galatasaray. Sunday People Sport understands a move to United and the chance to hook up with Moyes once again holds more appeal to Coleman than a switch to Arsenal. Source: Mirror
